My fil has alzheimer's and was prescrbed naprosyn (naproxen) twice a day for severe arthrits in his back. will this affect his dementia?

Probably Not: Patients on meds like naprosyn (naproxen) seem to have a lower chance of developing alzheimer's but it probably doesn't improve the symptoms once they develop. You do need to be extra vigilant for the development of GI bleeding as these patients may not be able to report the symptoms. Unfortunately, some GI problems occur spontaneoulsy without any warning.Adding a ppi(prilosec) may reduce this risk.
