How to wear retainer: You are not ready to wear them only at night; need a slow transition so wear them during the day for about 1 hr in the AM and a couple hrs late afternoon, must wear them every night, eventually you can discontinue wearing them during the day, always wear them at night!

Retainers: I would suggest you call and consult with the dentist and tell them what you are experiencing. It may be wise to wear the retainers for up to 22 hours a day for a longer period of time than 2 weeks, probably 6 months, before you try wearing them just overnight again. Then see if the retainers go in with ease.
