Metformin: Or glucophage is well known to cause gastrointestinal side effects, specifically diarrhea and while it seems to have helped with your diabetes, it might have caused you gi issues. Best would be to share with your treating doc as adjustments may be needed to your regimen. Losing weight, if applicable, will help with your diabetes regardless.
