I am now 3 and a half weeks post tarsal tunnel and baxton nerve release surgery. foot has tingling, pins and needles feeling top and bottom. with some numbness on top into toes. areas where i had pain pre surgery still burn some. is this normal?

Not long enough: In general, it takes 3-4 weeks for the insulating myelin cover to restore after a compression is released. If the axonal core has been damaged, it will regrow at speed of fingernail, 0.1 mm/day. So, you may experience a period of several months until full recovery. Some of this could be assessed via EMG/ NCV study, but would not do before 6-8 wks post-op has elapsed.
