Cancer concerns: I would not jump to that conclusion. There can be many reasons for a sore axilla. Glad to hear that there are no swollen lymph nodes.

Pain in the armpit : Very often arm pain is an infected hair follicle. I have seen it from enlarged lymph nodes, and shingles.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see a doctor. You may need antibiotic treatment. Get HPV and Covid vaccines. Wish you good health!

Axillary pain: Breast cancer is usually painless. When it is painful, it is associated with the thicker tissue or lump in the breast, change in size or shape, discharge from nipple, dimpling of skin etc. other causes are as mentioned by my esteemed colleagues. Anxiety can also give rise to pain in armpit by shaking, rapid heart rate, irritation and muscle strain. I hope it is helpful.
