A member asked:

I have done my yearly check up and i have a 6.1 for cholesterol which i was told is very high. what should be my next steps: seeing a gp, further blood tests...etc?

Diet and exercise: If you are even slightly overweight, lose weight. Reduce intake of saturated fats. Exercise at least 30 minute/day, 5 days a week. After a trial of diet, weight loss, and exercise, check again to see if you need to take medication to lower cholesterol. Start with a consultation with your GP. Wish you good health!
