"High grade" pap ?'s: "High grade squamous lesions" can occur regardless of prior negative pap smears, and are common secondary to human palilloma viral infection. See your OB physician, as colposcopy may be required, and is safe in pregnancy. Treatment may be postponed until delivery, and depending on results of colposcopy, operative delivery may be considered.

Pap smear results: It's less likely, but note the following: 1. Ask if the lab that looked at the Pap smear, compared it to the last one to make sure nothing was inadvertently missed 2. Changes in pregnancy can look like SIL. Ask if the lab will review the Pap smear again (almost all CLIA or CAP labs in the US have a QA process to do this) 3. Ask if a HPV test was done and is that positive
