Heart arrhythmias: Benign Atrial Extrasystoles can cause transient lightheadedness that typically resolves within seconds. This is due to the fact that the brain is extremely sensitive to heart rate and oxygenation levels. Any arrhythmia can cause momentary transient dips in the movement of blood to your brain and a corresponding momentary decrease in Oxygen level which results in a dizzy feeling.

Possible.: If lightheaded episodes coincide with the extrasystole. A rhythm monitor with careful records of your symptoms may help correlate the two and reassure you if the extrasystoles are isolated and infrequent. Please discuss with your doctor. If the doctor is able to listen to your hear while you are dizzy, you may not need monitoring.
