Selection of tests..: Please understand, i'm strongly in favor of patients playing a major role in their medical treatment. But it does not include selection of tests, procedures, treatment, medications. Those are tasks the professional has been trained to do. Patients need to provide accurate, full descriptions of their symptoms and circumstances. They need to follow treatment & provide feedback to modify plans, etc.

Leave it to Endcrino: You have to provide your symptoms and the reason you are there to see the Endocrinologit and after you are examined the Doctor will know what tests to order as the tests are based on what the Doctor thinks will help make the correct diagnosis LET THE DOCTOR DECIDE
