A member asked:

Hi doctors! i take plavix 75mg daily. i get occasional purple bruising of unknown origin...at least unknown to me! how do you/how does one know if the purple bruising is a reaction that "the plavix is working," or that something is or may be wrong?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not unexpected: Plavix is a longterm valuable anti-platelet agent to prevent heart attacks and strokes. Since bleeding time is prolonged, not unusual for occasional and scattered bruising. This is common and typically self-limited. You could discuss this with your doctor if you choose.
