A member asked:

If one is on chronic medication, how often do one need to see the doctor for check up making sure that the medication is working. my wife's earlier symptoms before being diagnosed coming back. please assist. thanks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Which medication?: All medications have half lives and certain lengths of time to take effect and stay effective. Some medications also induce tolerance over time resulting in a need for dose adjustment or new medication. In general most chronic meds should be effective within weeks to months so if symptoms returning after a month or more should probably be checked by physician and evaluate need for dose adjustment
