Stop Nurofen: Nurofen is an NSAID and it will cause/worsen stomach upset (diarrhea, abdominal pain). This is well known to occur in adults but is less well known in the pediatric population but it does occur. It should not be given on an empty stomach either. Continue Empaped (acetaminophen) as directed on bottle, which does not upset stomach and if child is still miserable (high fever), see MD promptly.

Symptoms: Probably viral, but may be from teething. It is Standard of Care that ALL children have their first Dental Examination non later than their 1st birthday. Recommend examination by a children's dental specialist, a Pedodontist. Would be prudent to check in with BOTH Pediatrician and Pedodontist. Keep track of temperature, keep child hydrated, watch for rash or difficulty breathing.
