Quickly: The thoughts about alcohol relate to its tendency to dry/dehydrate the tissues. Other alcohol free products can be just as effective in removing germs without it. The affected tissues of the mouth are renewed regularly in the normal body processes. If you have mouth issues lasting more than a week after the change I would see your dentist/doc for an evaluation.

Mouthwash: Unless it contains fluoride it is probably;ly not of much use. Will not replace either brushing 2 full minutes twice a day or flossing at least once a day. Make sure to see your Dentist twice a year for an examination and professional cleaning. Choose a mouthwash without alcohol but with fluoride.
