A member asked:

I started using listerine natural mouth wash, which contains alcohol, menthol, and eucalyptus oil. can this cause salivary gland inflammation/swelling?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Listerine: Listerine is effective at reducing gingivitis however if one has a dry mouth the alcohol can make it drier. As with ant other product the can be sensitive to some ingredients. Typically Listerine does not cause inflammation but everyone is different. Don't use the Listerine for a few days and see how your mouth feels. If the inflammation persists then see a dentist for an evaluation
