Cold weather: Sjogrens typically occurs in mild cold, and involves a color change. It is caused by vascular spasm that limits blood flow to the fingers. Having your fingers get very cold on a very cold day and hurt is typical for hypothermic extremity reactions. Make sure to wear warmer or looser gloves with layers.
