Tooth abscess : Fortunately you were taking antibiotics before the surgery to remove the abscess was performed. Continuing antibiotic after the surgery is also important to remove any residual infection. You should do fine with the management that you described. If you were to have a fever or worsening pain, please call your dental surgeon.

UNLIKELY RISK: Brain infections from dental sources are relatively uncommon and usually seen in chronic and untreated dental abscesses, in absence of antibiotics. Your dentist has wisely place you on antibiotics and there should be absolutely no risk if you comply with instructions. Hope you feel better soon.
