A member asked:

I feel a bit confused. my cardiologist had me do 48 hour halter monitor, blood tests stress echocardiogram, resting echo and ecgs. he said my heart was fine. would this mean it would be very unlikely that i have cad?

CAD: If you achieved 85% of your maximal heart rate during the stress echo and no abnormalities were seen, it would be highly unlikely that you have clinically significant coronary artery disease. A cardiac catheterization would be definitive, but is usually not recommended with your stress echo results and no classic symptomatology.

No: It just means whatever symptoms you are expressing statistically are unlikely do to CAD. Whether you have CAD is based on family history and other risk factors such as elevated cholesterol, hypertension or diabetes. To rule out having asymptomatic CAD consider a calcium score which is CT scan looking for calcium in the coronary arteries.
