Podiatrist option : For completeness a podiatrist is very competent to take care of such a problem. The doctor should be able to provide an appropriate opinion If the fracture edges are close enough to avoid surgery. However if alignment and spacing between the fracture edges is not close enough then surgery would be indicated. Bone healing will be seen across the fracture on x-ray in 3 to 4 weeks.
