Omeprazole /pregnant: Omeprazole a PPI is listed as pregnancy category C by FDA- meaning defects were noted in animal studies . Prevecid-lasoprazole which is the same class a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) -is listed a pregnancy category B -safe-no animal studies to date confirming defects. Famotidine(Pepcid) is category B as well. Would discuss with your OB .
