A member asked:

I may have thick uterus because i get spotting and more than 7 days of period. i have pcos, but is this uterine lining is hyperplasia? if not, this uterine line can cause cancer? or will it complicate pregnancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

PCOS ?'s: PCOS patients have a sustained exposure to estrogen produced by the ovaries, which causes excessive production of endometrial cells (uterine lining), leading to a potential ultimately for malignancy. Pregnancy with PCOS is difficult, but if it occurs is managable without complications from PCOS. Patients with PCOS should be on oral bcps, until pregnancy is desired, controlling uterine lining.
