No: Your gum was slightly injured so the sensitivity is normal. Rinse with hydrogen peroxide and water 2-3 times a day and brush area very gently so not to irritate it more. If pain persists for a while than go to drug store and get xylocaine ointment and place on gum area that still hurts. You should feel better in less than a week.

Post trauma: Dentist appointment is required only if you want to assure that nothing is wrong. From this side of the computer we can't examine your tissues or take x-rays if required. If for no other reason than peace of mind, see your Dentist.
