No: The doctor patient relationship needs to have open and honest communication in order to provide and receive the optimal care. If the procedure was more uncomfortable than anticipated, you should relay that to your dentist. If you have other procedures to be performed, your dentist may possibly have other options available for you to make the procedure more comfortable.

I think not: Your dentist needs to know these things so that s/he can manage your care. They won't take it personally.. it's not their fault you were in pain. It was the procedure in combination with your personal pain tolerance.
