Many good options: While Prilosec helps it will never cure reflux as it does not address the ultimate causes. See https://chriskresser.com/what-everybody-ought-to-know-but-doesnt-about-heartburn-gerd/ for a detailed discussion of natural therapies. Also try melatonin, at least 6 mg at bedtime and treat H.pylori with mastic gum if there is evidence of it. See https://blog.designsforhealth.com/node/838

Yes: There are non-pharmacologic treatments for acid reflux (GERD). Place the head of your bed on bricks to raise it 4-6 inches. Pillows are not as effective as they make you flex your abdomen which raises intra-abdominal pressure, which is counter-productive. Do not eat or drink anything within 3-4 hours of bedtime (even water). Avoid alcohol. Smoking is forbidden.

Prevention: Gastric reflux may be due to defective gastro-esophageal sphincter, but more likely due to elevated intraabdominal pressure. The raise intraabdominal pressure is most often due to obesity. If you are overweigh, losing weight is imperative.

Consider Gaviscon.: In addition to previous recommendations, i would consider 30 cc of Liquid Gaviscon.
