I : I agree a physician examination is in order with a heliobacter pylori evaluation and probably an upper endoscopy to evaluate for barretts esophagus. Finally i would stress that medication go hand in hand with dietary modifications including avoiding fried and spicy foods, sodas, caffeinated beverages, and tomatoes. Other things to consider is weight loss, avoiding too tight jeans, and making sure that one does no go to sleep or lie down directly after eating, as this places the stomach at the same level of the esophagus and exacerbates reflux.
