Communication: If a child is not babbling doubled syllables by 18 months, referral to speech services is recommended. It is very reassuring if your child understands language (receptive language) but by 3 years some expressive language is expected. Time to discuss with your pediatrician. Meanwhile, keep talking directly to your child and wait for his response.
