See your doctor: by age 2, kids should have about a 20 word vocab and be starting to make 2 word phrases such as "mommy go" or"dada up". It is good that he is pointing to communicate and that he repeats words, but I would as his doctor to evaluate his development more formally with a screening tool. You may also want to have his hearing evaluated.
