Attention : Attention deficit, hyperactivity disorder can be a difficult diagnosis to make - especially in a child who is not yet school-aged. Other problems such as inadequate sleep, oppositional defiant disorder, anxiety and depression can also appear to have the same symptoms of adhd. You should discuss your concerns about your child's behavior with your child's doctor. Because he is so young, they may send you to a child psychiatrist for a more thorough evaluation and treatment.

Symptoms of Early-: Onset adhd begin ~ 2 1/2. Adhd is highly heritable. Neurotypical toddlers & pre-schoolers can have very short attention spans, so perstently disruptive, hyperactive/impulsive behaviors usually prompt referral to a developmental/behavioral pediatrician. Behavioral therapy, behavioral management training for parents, & early intervention (education) can significantly alter the clinical course.
