ASK OB/GYN: Maybe consider Benadryl or diphenhydramine in stead. Always ask your OB/GYN if in doubt. Also why do you have the rash this should also be considered.

Allergic rashes: Try to find out what you are allergic of. Use topical steroids is better because you are pregnant. You can use Benadryl as suggested by the first doctor. It is always wise to consult your OB doctor before you try any oral medication during pregnancy.

Pregnancy and rashes: Pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPPs) is a rash that disappears once the baby is delivered. Apart from that it is very uncomfortable and physicians do not seem to have much interest in it. Ask your obstetrician. Try cool compresses, diphenhydramine if your OB okays it. There are tales of dandelion root taken by mouth being helpful.
