Hit hand hard a week ago. have been icing and wrapping. still using hand alot since i'm right handed. the swelling has not improved much and point tenderness is worse along with throbbing. xray clear. should i return to orthopedic?

Yes: Many times hairline fractures get missed early and whenever symptoms are worsening instead of improving as expected for healing, seeing the doc is the way to go. Specifically if you have already been examined by Ortho, seeing same doc would be great and give you the best chance of having your hand condition treated right.
