If there is point tenderness or increased pain with movement, with swelling, you may need an x ray to determine if the wrist is broken. Wrap the area with an ace wrap gently and avoid moving the wrist. The increase in swelling with icing is of concern. Please follow up with urgent care or your PCP. If badly sprained, a splint may be applied to reduce pain with motion.
