Male 57. bad reaction to all opiates when taken longer than a week. mem.loss, oedema, swollen joints, etc. now on 2x diclofenac50+ 4x acetaminophen1000. my gp won't prescribe 3x diclo. too dangerous she says. is it really that bad? and if so, why?

TOO MANY ANALGESICS: Diclofenac is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory and is processed by the kidneys and can be tough on the stomach as well as being a blood thinner. That is a lot of acetaminophen a day as well tough on the liver. You may need to really discuss this regimen and other things that you can do for pain. Maybe this is why she will not give more.
