What should my gp prescribe for my globus conversion reaction?

Dr. Pamela Pappas answered

Specializes in Psychiatry

Not a medication: Unless s/he also has extensive training in psychiatry, your gp would probably not be the one to treat you for any conversion reaction. (some doctors do combined residencies in internal medicine & psychiatry, but certainly not all.) the best help for such a condition is not a medication, but talk therapy with some guided imagery or other mind-body kind of work to help you.
