Is acid reflux(gerd) associated with liver issues? i was recently diagnosed with nafld and it seems like my gerd has been worse too. my alt/ast was elevated, and now im having bad acid reflux. what is my best course of getting better ?

Two issues. : Acid reflux disorders are one problem, generally described as GERD. An increase in ALT/AST is a separate issue. The level of these elevations is key. If it is mild elevation, could be fatty infiltration of liver, for example. Obesity and/or diabetes can underlie both issues going on. A gastroenterologist can get at the bottom of the issues.

Life style changes: Not necessarily, usually they are independent issues. Gerd can be related to a variety of things including lack of exercise, excessive caffeine or sour foods, sleeping soon after eating, increased stress to name a few. Mild ast/alt elevation can be associated with nafld but higher levels need to be evaluated further by a specialist. Best course of action would be to consult with your doctor.
