A member asked:

I have experienced chronic numbness in my right shin after doing exercises like squats. i believe that the nerve is damaged. is there a way to naturally treat a damaged nerve in the shin? is it dangerous if it goes untreated?

Nerve damage occurs because a nerve is crushed, cut or pinched. The nerves that innervate your shin travel up your leg and into the spine. If you are experiencing numbness, it is more likely that it is not a localized nerve in your shin that is the problem, but a nerve up closer to your spine. Talk to your regular Dr for a full neurological exam. Treatment may include antiinflamatories, stretches
