A member asked:

I normally have low bp. 1st this morning was 116/75. my 2nd reading this afternoon was 130/90, and can't figure out why. my hr is also usually low, resting 60's, and normally in 70's. what should my next steps be? cause for concern?

BP monitoring: Continue monitoring your BP AM and PM. Goal is 130/80 or lower. There is nothing wrong with your heart rate. Is your weight ideal? Avoid excess salt, caffeine, alcohol. No nicotine. Regular exercise helps. Minimize stress. In my opinion, no need for medication unless BP exceeds 135-140/85-88.
