Ever since i got braces,my lips are red ,burn,sore and swollen,is it possible i'm allergic to the braces?if i am then are there alternative braces that don't cause allergy?second question is how do i confirm that it is the braces causing this?

In addition, the appliances rubbing against the lips, tongue and mouth, can cause some redness and swelling. Try using vaseline to coat the lips, reapplying often. Make sure you are drinking lots of fluids.

Irritation: For adults, lip irritation is common the firs few weeks in braces. Your treating specialist Orthodontist or General Dentist will have many suggestions to reduce soreness until your body acclimates itself. There are exceptionally rare instances of nickel or latex allergies. An allergist can test you. There are nickel and ,latex-free materials available.
