Contact dermatitis: i assume you are also applying OTC lip balms such as Carmen, aquaphor etc. These products hydrate your lips but paradoxically can actually perpetuate the problem if you are allergic to the fragrance or wool alcohol in these products. Try using pure Vaseline exclusively for the next week (which does not contain sensitizers) and see if it gets better.
