A member asked:

What causes inflammation in your body. i took a sed rate test it was 37 mm/hr its slightly elevated what could that mean.. my fingers and feet were like burning and pins and needles and my iron was at 29 mm everything else was ok?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vague: Decades ago researchers realized blood cells suspended in a tube dropped quicker in people with inflammatory conditions. This became the ESR & is not specific to any condition. Mild elevations like the one listed can be present during/after any illness or condition. What you mean by an iron of 29 mm is unknown as that is not a recognized unit of iron measurement.
