Specializes in Pediatrics

See a Urologist: A hypertonic pelvic floor occurs when the muscles in the pelvic floor become too tense and are unable to relax. Many people with a tense and non-relaxing pelvic floor experience constipation, painful sex, urgency and pelvic pain. treatment can consist of pelvic floor physical therapy (by specially trained physical therapists), muscle relaxants, biofeedback, and botox injections. See a urologist.
