Talk to your Dr.: Ringworm is actually not a worm, but a fungus. It infects the skin and causes circular lesions. Treatment is more difficult if the ringworm (tinea) is in the scalp. Typically, oral griseofulvin for 4-6 weeks is prescribed by a dr. The treatment can take up to 2 cycles to completely cure the lesions. Unfortunately even after treatment, you can be reinfected from others/animals. Talk to your Dr.
