A member asked:

Is it possible to have pcos without insulin resistance on the c-peptide exam (did twice) and glucose levels are always around 84-85.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Wrong test: C-peptide is not a test for Insulin resistance. It is a test to see if you are still making your own insulin, which we knew that you were or else you would have had type 1 diabetes. There is not specific lab test for Insulin resistance, it is an accumulation of other information and findings by your doctor. Insulin resistance with a normal glucose should yield an elevated c-peptide.
