Can shortness of breath suddenly occur due to anxiety? i have no other symptoms but i have been experiencing it for about a week. i would say it's mild, but it gets worse when i focus on it. i have been feeling very anxious recently.

Yes: The only way to tell is by ruling out medical conditions that may cause the symptoms as anxiety may also accompany such symptoms. Many times no medical root can be found and anxiety remains the culprit.
