Ive had lots of lab work due to an upcoming surgery. 5 days ago my platelet volume was 12.7- yesterday it was 13. my platelet count is 236, is this a concern? all other cbc labs were normal although the partial thromboplastin time was high end, 33.

See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, none of the values you provided is a cause for concern. Wish you good health!

Blood donation 2 weeks later my platelets were high at 448. (Cut off at 397) at time of donation they were 358. Normal. All ther labs in cbc, cmp, tibc- normal except for iron saturation dropped to 15. Is it normal for platelets to rise after?
