Add NSAID: Unless contraindicated, using an NSAID either topical like Voltaren gel, or oral like ibuprofen or naproxen should resolve the pain and redness, the colchicine should resolve the cause for this inflammation, but not all,the inflammation, as you discovered. Also review foods to avoid when you have gout. Good luck
