What would you recommend to help with my chest? is prednisone safe during covid 19? i have a nagging cough & i tested positive on the 30th june.

Not a silver bullet: A cousin of prednisone,dexamethazone, has helped some patients under treatment for covid. However, ingested steroids can reduce your immune response to diseases in general. I would never advise someone to start oral steroids without doing so under direct supervision of a doc who knows all your medical history & physical findings.

Do not take: Do not take prednisone without advice of a doctor. Steroids have been shown to help severe case of Covid-19, it makes mild cases worse. It would be prudent to consult your doctor by phone to see if there may be an alternative explanation. Wish you good health!
