Evaluation: Chronic cough should be evaluated by your PCP. A chest image or Albuterol inhaler may be indicated. It is not unusual that a cough will linger following a chest infection, but it should start to improve within one week. Use nasal saline drops and cool air mist and if the cough persists, please see your PCP. Avoid dust, smoke, pollen and pet dander.
