Vascular problem: Fever with chills and toes that are turning blue black may indicate a serious infection that is affecting your vascular system. I would go to an Emergency Department as soon as possible. If the circulation to your toes is compromised, your tissue may begin to die. Dead tissue can lead to gangrene.
