Talk to your Dr.: Controlling blood sugar (glucose) levels is the major goal of diabetes treatment. Type 2 diabetes may be managed with non-insulin medications, insulin, weight loss, and dietary changes. Talk to your Dr about starting on a diabetes med and getting a testing kit to test your blood glucose levels at home several times per day. You should also discuss treating your Hypertension.

Diabetes, high bp: Get proper treatment and follow-up by a specialist in internal medicine, diabetologist or at a diabetes clinic. See a registered dietician for proper diet instructions. If your hypertension is difficult to treat, a cardiologist is best to consult. The combination of high blood sugar and high blood pressure leads to early serious complications. Cholesterol, triglycerides, hdl, ldl must be controlled.

Diabetes: You are heading for trouble if you don't turn around the ship. Type 2 diabetes is caused by eating too much sugar and highly refined food. The best approach is combining some type of fasting program with exercise. Eat all your food during a 6 hour window every day. Try shifting to a ketogenic diet with healthy fats and less refined carbs. Check your HbA1c and keep it below 6. Metformin an option.
