Many: Menopause happens because the woman's ovaries stop producing the hormones estrogen and progesterone. A woman has reached menopause when she has not had a period for one year. Treatments include Hormone Therapy, Vaginal Estrogen cream, low dose antidepressants, Gabapentin, Clonidine, meds that prevent osteoporosis, Phytoestrogens, Black Cohosh, etc. Talk to your Dr for treatment

There are many medications that are used to treat symptoms of menopause. The key is only using something to treat the symptoms. There are non-prescription over-the-counter products as well as hormones and non-hormone treatments. Many gynecologists are well-versed in all these different options and is probably worth a discussion. Just remember if you aren’t having symptoms you may need nothing
