What is the best treatment for menopause?

It depends: There are various menopausal problems. They can include hot flashes, decreased sex drive, dry vagina, nervousness and irritability, depression, a feeling of not being able to cope. Some women have no symptoms except the cessation of menses(menopause). Various treatments include hormones, antidepressants, vaginal estrogen or over the counter remedies. Discuss the best rx for you with your doctor.

Depends on desires: The best treatment is the one you will trust and follow. Hormone replacement therapy is ideal for treating acute symptoms and preventing bone loss, colon cancer, plaque formation, dementia, vaginal dryness and other consequences of lack of estrogen. Some people feel more comfortable with herbal products. Depends on your goals and need to discuss with your dr.
